Saint Roque’s festivity in Llanes The summer festivities in Llanes are organised in “Bandos”: Saint Roque (16th of August), the Virgen de la Guia (8th of Septembre) and Saint Magdalena (22nd of July). There is a fierce rivalry between the different bandos. Every year they compete to be the village’s best festivity. San Roque is the patron saint of pilgrims, male nurses and dogs. The official pasodoble of the bando of Saint Roque is “España cañí” and their flower is the siempreviva.
